If you struggle for room across the foot or have a high instep, the Quebec Waterproof Zip Up Ankle Boots are worth starting with – they're tagged Wide Fit and use a premium Opti Zip that makes them far easier to pull on than a standard boot. The Hudson Ankle Boots share the same zip and insole system and offer an adjustable fit, so they're a good alternative if you want a similar feel in a different colourway.

Zip and lace styles like the Harley and Dixie can be fine-tuned around the ankle, while stretch-panel styles such as the Toddy flex to accommodate slightly thicker socks in colder months.
