The Hudson boots take a completely different approach: they're fully waterproof country boots that happen to share the tasselled zip pull detail. If you need a boot that will genuinely keep the weather out, the Hudson range is the better choice.
Best for Wet Weather
All three Hudson boots — the Storm, Mid and Ankle — use a Wil-Tex® waterproof membrane with a sheep wool or memory foam insole, so they're the ones to reach for on wet country walks or in the yard. The Sovereign is not waterproof and is best kept for dry, dressier occasions.
Best for Wide Calves
The Hudson Storm is the only boot in this collection offered in both Standard and Wide calf fittings, thanks to its adjustable buckle opening. The Sovereign's elasticated rear stretch panel also gives some flexibility for a fuller calf, though it doesn't come in a dedicated wide fitting.
