Comfort Insoles & Laces

Pick by what you're after. For everyday shock absorption, a cushioning insole such as the Bareback X-comfort Insoles or Pedag soft cushioning insoles works well. For warmth in cold weather, choose a sheepskin or wool-lined footbed. If a boot feels a touch loose, a heel raiser or half insole takes up spare room without crowding your toes.

If your boots have a removable footbed, take it out first so the new insole sits flat and you don't lose too much room. Many insoles come slightly oversized; use your existing insole as a template and trim to the marked lines with sharp scissors. Test the fit before trimming further, as you can always take a little more off but not add it back.

Natural sheepskin and wool-lined insoles stay fresher if you let them air between wears. Remove them occasionally to dry fully, and spot-clean with a damp cloth rather than soaking. Rotating two pairs extends their life and keeps the natural fibres springy and warm.
