The Vermont Storm Waterproof Long Riding Boots are the only long boot in the collection with a confirmed waterproof lining; for shorter boots, the Quebec, Hudson, Rocky, Ottawa, Dakota, Vancouver and Chicago waterproof ranges, along with the Storm jodhpur boots, all use a Wil-Tex waterproof membrane.

Lining varies more than most people expect across a range this size:

• Sheepskin and wool — Montana, Andalucia, Nebraska, Ottawa, Hudson, Alaska and Quebec Wool Lined boots all use natural sheepskin or wool for warmth
• Memory foam insoles (X-Comfort) — the Kentucky and Quebec ranges, plus Franklin, Monroe and Detroit
• Breathable leather or membrane linings — Idaho Jodhpur, Buffalo, Bronx, Children's Bronx and Milan

Riding boots (jodhpur and long) should sit close to the leg with enough room to flex at the ankle — if you're between standard and wide calf, size up to the wide-calf option rather than sizing down the length. Fashion and casual boots like the Franklin Chelsea Boots, Monroe Brown Short Boot and Dixie Cowboy Boots fit true to size. The Barco Deck Shoe fits generously — go down half a size.
