Measure around the widest part of your calf while standing, keeping the tape snug but not tight. As a rough guide, if your calf measures more than around 38-40cm you'll usually be better suited to our wide fitting boots rather than a standard leg. If your measurement sits right on the border, or changes through the day, the Andalucia is worth a look thanks to its lace gusset, which adds up to 3.5cm of adjustable width on top of the wide fit.

Both the Montana and Andalucia are made in standard and wide calf fittings, so you can choose the leg width that matches your measurement. The Andalucia goes a step further with a full-length lace system built into the rear gusset, letting you fine-tune the fit by up to 3.5cm rather than relying on a single fixed width. This makes it a good option if your calf size sits between our standard and wide measurements, or if you simply prefer boots you can adjust yourself.

Both the Montana and Andalucia use a full-length rear OPTI® zip, so you don't have to fight your way into a wide calf boot. The Andalucia adds a stretch gusset behind the zip for extra flexibility as you pull them on, which can be especially useful if your calf size varies day to day.

The Montana is our classic wide calf riding boot, with a Duratred® moulded sole and steel shank for a firm, supportive base whether you're in the yard or in the saddle. The Andalucia is built for calves that need a bit more flexibility, with its adjustable lace gusset and gel insert heel adding extra give and cushioning. If you know your standard or wide measurement suits you well, the Montana is the simpler choice; if you're unsure or your calf shape changes, the Andalucia's adjustability gives you more room to get the fit right.

No. The Montana and Andalucia both use a moisture-wicking Therma-Tex layer to help keep feet comfortable and manage sweat, but neither is fitted with a waterproof membrane, so they're best suited to dry yard work and riding rather than wet weather conditions.

Both the Montana and Andalucia are available in a wide calf fitting. If your calf is towards the larger end of our wide fitting, or varies in size, the Andalucia's adjustable lace gusset gives you up to 3.5cm of extra width to play with.

The boot should sit close enough around the calf to stay secure in the stirrup, without digging in or leaving a gap at the top. The foot and ankle should feel snug rather than loose. If you're between our standard and wide measurements, or your calf size changes through the day, the Andalucia's lace gusset lets you adjust the fit rather than being locked into one width.
