Slim Fit Long Boots

Wrap a tape measure around the widest part of your calf while standing, keeping it snug but not tight. Compare this to the calf circumference listed on each product page. If you're between sizes, or your measurement sits well below the standard range for your foot size, look for boots with an adjustable lace, such as the Andalucia or Polar Storm, so you can take up the extra room rather than relying on a fixed elastic panel.

Only the Polar Storm in this collection is fully waterproof, built with a Wil-Tex membrane and a gusseted lace system for all-round weather protection. The Andalucia, Nebraska and Harley are not waterproof, so they're best suited to drier riding, yard work or everyday wear rather than standing about in wet fields.

Both the Andalucia and the Polar Storm use a full-leg lace system, which is the best option if your calf is noticeably slimmer than average. Lace them snugly from the foot up before fastening the rear zip, rather than zipping first and lacing after – this gives a closer line up the leg and stops the boot gaping at the top.

The Andalucia, Nebraska and Polar Storm are all full-length riding boots. The Harley is a shorter boot at around 21cm, with the same idea of a close, adjustable fit through the foot and ankle rather than the calf. If you want the slim styling but don't need knee-height coverage, the Harley is worth a look; for yard work, hacking or bad weather, one of the long boots will serve you better.
