Why These Are Our Best-Sellers

These six styles are our most popular long boots for a reason: real comfort features, dependable materials and proven fit across a range of calves. The Hudson Storm and Dakota are chosen again and again for wet-weather reliability, while the Montana and Andalucia offer the widest range of colours and calf widths. The Graceland and Georgia round out the range with smarter, slimmer silhouettes for those who want a more tailored look in and out of the saddle.

Waterproof Long Boots

If you need genuine weatherproofing, the Hudson Storm and Dakota are your best bet. Both use a Wil-Tex membrane that wraps the whole boot for 360° waterproofing, paired with a Duratread outsole for grip in the mud and muck of a working yard. The Montana, Andalucia, Graceland and Georgia are built from full grain or nubuck leather with moisture-wicking linings, which handle showers well but are not fully waterproof, so we would not recommend them for standing in wet fields all day.

Wide and Adjustable Calf Options

Calf shape changes rider to rider, so several of our best-sellers come in more than one width. The Dakota and Montana are both available in Standard and Wide calf fittings in the same style. The Andalucia takes a different approach, with a full-leg lace system giving up to 3.5cm of adjustable width, which is useful if your calf size changes through the season or after time in the saddle.

Slim Calf and Smart Styling

If you want a closer, more tailored fit, look at the Georgia, which uses a calf-hugging nubuck stretch panel and a slim-line outsole for a neat, competition-ready profile. The Graceland sits between the two, with a 2cm side stretch panel for comfort without the bulk of a wide-calf boot, and a Vibram sole with a smart wood composite detail that works as well in the yard as it does for a quick trip into town.

Lining, Comfort and Support

Every boot in this collection is built with all-day comfort in mind, though the linings differ:

  • Hudson Storm – sheep wool insole and Therma-tex lining for moisture wicking
  • Dakota – cushioned insole that moulds to your foot, plus a gel heel insert
  • Montana – natural sheepskin insole encasing the whole foot and heel
  • Andalucia – sheepskin insole with a Therma-Tex lining through the leg
  • Graceland – full leather lining with a removable X-comfort moulded insole
  • Georgia – leather lining through the leg with a removable gel-moulded insole
How Long Boots Should Fit

Long boots should sit close around the ankle and lower leg without pinching behind the knee when you bend it, and there should be no gap at the top when standing. If you are between calf sizes, or your calf measurement is close to the upper end of the standard range, choose one of the Wide Calf options above (Dakota, Montana or Andalucia) rather than sizing up in length. Wear the socks you would normally ride in when trying boots on, and allow a little room at the toe for thicker winter socks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these long boots waterproof?

Two of our best-sellers are: the Hudson Storm and the Dakota both use a Wil-Tex waterproof membrane. The Montana, Andalucia, Graceland and Georgia are not fully waterproof, though their leather uppers and moisture-wicking linings cope well with everyday showers.

Which long boots are best for wide calves?

The Dakota and Montana are both offered in Standard and Wide calf fittings. The Andalucia is a good alternative if your calf size varies, thanks to its adjustable full-leg lace system giving up to 3.5cm of extra width.

Which long boots are best for slim calves?

The Georgia is cut with a slim, calf-hugging nubuck stretch panel for a closer fit, and the Graceland offers a similar tailored look with a smaller 2cm stretch allowance.

What is the difference between the Montana and the Dakota?

Both come in Standard and Wide calf fittings with a similar Duratread-style outsole, but the Dakota is fully waterproof thanks to its Wil-Tex membrane, while the Montana uses a moisture-wicking (not waterproof) membrane and is available in an extra colour, blue.

Can I wear these boots for everyday country walks, not just riding?

Yes. All of the boots in this collection are built for yard work and country walking as well as riding, with practical features like anti-slip outsoles, cushioned insoles and moulded shanks for all-day support.

How should long riding boots fit around the ankle and calf?

They should feel snug but not tight, with no rubbing behind the knee when bent and no gap at the top when standing straight. If you are unsure between two calf widths, choose the wider option, since a boot that is too tight is far less comfortable than one with a little extra room.

Do these boots come with a cushioned insole?

Yes. Every model has some form of cushioned or shock-absorbing insole, from the sheepskin insoles in the Montana and Andalucia to the removable X-comfort and gel-moulded insoles in the Graceland and Georgia.
