The right boot height depends on where you're working and how wet it gets.

Ankle (Quebec Ankle pull-on or zip, Ottawa Storm, Hudson Ankle): quickest to get on and off — ideal if you're moving between indoors and outdoors regularly or working in damp rather than very wet conditions.

Mid-calf (Quebec pull-on or zip mid-calf, Vancouver Storm, Hudson Storm, Hudson Mid, Rocky, Dakota): the most versatile height for most yard and farm work — enough coverage for a typical working day without restricting movement at the knee. Most of these come in Standard and Wide Fit.

Knee height (Vermont Storm, Polar Storm): best for particularly wet or muddy conditions, or anywhere water might come over a shorter boot. The Vermont Storm comes in Black and Brown; the Polar Storm is the tallest in the range and has an adjustable strap.

If standard fixed-calf boots have never quite worked for you, the Hudson range is worth a close look. All three — the Hudson Storm, Hudson Mid and Hudson Ankle — have an adjustable strap that lets you fine-tune the calf circumference rather than committing to a single fixed size.

The Hudson Storm is the tallest, sitting at full mid-calf height. The Hudson Mid is slightly shorter. The Hudson Ankle sits just above the ankle — a good option if you want the adjustable fit in a shorter profile. All three are confirmed waterproof and come in Chocolate.
