Waterproof boots for Men

The Quebec is Bareback's flagship waterproof country boot, available to men in four distinct styles:

• Quebec (pull-on, mid-calf) — the most versatile option. Black and Brown, standard and wide calf.
• Quebec Ankle (pull-on) — shorter, quicker to get on and off. Good for lighter use and warmer months.
• Quebec Ankle (zip) — same ankle height but with a zip for a closer fit. Standard and wide in Black and Brown.
• Quebec Mid-Calf (zip) — mid-calf with a zip for more precise adjustment. Black and Brown, standard calf.
• Quebec Wool-Lined (zip) — mid-calf zip with a wool inner for cold weather. Brown, standard and wide.

All Quebec variants share the same waterproof construction. The pull-on versions are faster on and off; the zip versions give a closer fit.

• Dakota — standard and wide calf in Brown and Blue. Purpose-built for the wider leg.
• Quebec (pull-on) — wide fit in Black and Brown.
• Quebec Ankle and zip variants — wide fit available in Black.

If the standard calf sits between widths, the zip variants on the Quebec give you some additional adjustability in the ankle and mid-calf area.

Jodhpur boots are short pull-on boots with an adjustable calf strap, widely used for riding and yard work. All four options below are waterproof and available in men's sizing:

• Quebec — more choice. Available in pull-on and zip, ankle and mid-calf, standard and wide. The better option if you want flexibility or need a wide-fit version.
• Vancouver Storm — cleaner, more streamlined profile. Standard calf only. A good choice if you want a neater-looking boot and don't need the wide option.

Both are confirmed waterproof and unisex in sizing. The Quebec is generally the more popular men's boot due to the variety of heights and closures available.

For working in the yard, fields or on a farm, mid-calf is generally the most practical height — enough coverage without getting in the way. The Dakota is a popular choice for men who need a wide-calf option for hard-wearing use. The Quebec pull-on is quick on and off for yard use. The Rocky is a lighter, less structured option if the boot is also used for walking and general outdoor use. The jodhpur boots (Idaho Storm, Kentucky Storm) are good for paddock and yard use when worn with jodhpurs or close-fitting trousers.

The jodhpur-style boots — Kentucky Storm, Idaho Storm, Chatsworth Storm and Blair Storm — are all designed for riding and yard use, and all are waterproof. For regular riding in wet conditions these are the purpose-built options. The country boots (Quebec, Vancouver Storm, Dakota) are designed primarily for walking and yard work rather than the saddle.

The foot bed should sit firmly without excessive heel movement, and the toe box should be comfortable without being tight. Waterproof membranes add a small amount of structure and don't stretch as readily as untreated leather — if you're between sizes, size up. For mid-calf boots, the shaft should hold the leg without pinching; wide-calf versions are available across several models if the standard feels too snug.
