The Kentucky Storm, Rocky Winter, Rocky Waterproof, Delaware Storm and Quebec boots all use a Wil-Tex® waterproof membrane, confirmed in each product's own description, so they're the ones to reach for on wet yards and muddy fields.

The Kentucky Jodhpur, Andalucia and Roxy Suede boots are not waterproof. The Andalucia's Therma-Tex lining wicks moisture away from the foot, which helps with comfort, but it isn't a waterproof barrier — these three are best kept for dry stables, indoor arenas or fair-weather wear.

The Quebec Waterproof Boots are cut as a genuine Wide Fit. The Andalucia Boots use a full-leg lace system that adjusts up to 3.5cm of calf width, so they suit both standard and wide calves. The Delaware Storm Waterproof Short Boots are described as a generous, all-day fit that's great for a wide foot, though this refers to foot width rather than calf.

• Rocky Waterproof Boots — Perlon footbed with a moisture-wicking Therma-Tex layer for a drier, all-day feel.
• Kentucky Storm and Kentucky Jodhpur boots — removable X-Comfort memory foam insoles for cushioning and shock absorption.
• Quebec Waterproof Boots — X-Comfort memory foam insole plus a gel heel insert for extra shock absorption.
• Andalucia Boots — super soft natural sheepskin insole with a gel heel insert.
• Roxy Suede Boots — a simple, breathable fabric lining suited to lighter, casual wear.

Fit varies by style. The Kentucky Storm and Delaware Storm boots tend to run slightly large, so consider your usual size carefully. The Kentucky Jodhpur, Rocky Winter and Rocky Waterproof boots are true to size. The Quebec Waterproof Boots run large, and the Roxy Suede Boots run small — we recommend going up a size from your other Bareback Footwear for these.

Where laces or zips are adjustable, such as on the Kentucky and Andalucia ranges, use them to fine-tune ankle and calf support rather than relying on size alone.

Alongside the boots, this collection also includes the Kentucky Half-Chaps in Mocha, designed to fit our Kentucky boots and extend coverage up the leg, and the Barco Suede Deck Shoe in Caramel, a lightweight, breathable option for warmer days away from the yard.

It varies by model — check the table above for each boot's fit note. As a general rule, adjustable lace or zip styles like the Kentucky and Andalucia boots let you fine-tune the fit, while the Roxy Suede Boots are best ordered a size up.

Yes. The Rocky, Delaware Storm and Quebec waterproof boots all work well for country walks and yard chores beyond the saddle, and the Roxy Suede Boots and Barco Deck Shoe are suited to more casual, everyday wear.
