If you're out in all weathers, our Kentucky Storm, Rocky, Idaho Storm, Chatsworth Storm and Blair Storm boots all use a Wil-Tex® waterproof membrane to keep feet dry in wet fields and washdown areas.

If you mainly ride indoors or in the summer months, the non-waterproof Idaho, Buffalo and Bramham boots use breathable leather or membrane linings that stay cooler over long days.

For consistently wet or muddy conditions, the Rocky Waterproof Boots pair a Wil-Tex® membrane with a Duratread® anti-slip sole for solid grip underfoot. If you need extra warmth on cold mornings, the Rocky Winter Waterproof Boots add a natural sheep wool lining and footbed on top of the same waterproof build.

If your feet vary in width through the day, an adjustable lace system makes a real difference. The Kentucky Storm uses fully adjustable laces with a side zip for easy on/off once set, while the Bramham Zip Jodhpur Boots combine front lace-up speed hooks with elasticated side panels for a fit that flexes with you. The Buffalo Boots also lace directly to the foot and ankle for a tailored fit.

All styles include a moulded or arched shank for underfoot support, so you're not on your feet all day without any structure.

Short riding boots should sit snugly around the ankle without pinching, with enough room to wear a normal riding sock. Lace-up styles such as the Kentucky Storm and Bramham let you fine-tune the fit around the instep, which is useful if one foot is wider than the other. If you have a high instep, note that the Chatsworth Storm is best suited to average foot shapes rather than a high instep. If you're between sizes, size up rather than down, as boots that are too tight will rub during long days in the saddle.
