Kentucky Half Chaps

Half chaps are shaped leg coverings worn over jodhpur boots to recreate the look and protection of a tall riding boot, at a fraction of the price. They protect the lower leg from stirrup leather rub and give the leg a neat, streamlined shape in the saddle. Our Kentucky Half Chaps are designed specifically to fit our Kentucky boots, so the two work together as a matched pair.

Each pair features 4cm covered elastic stretch panels that mould to your calf shape for a more accommodating fit, along with elastic foot stirrups to keep the half chap in place while riding. The piped finish and 4cm Spanish top line give a neat, tailored appearance once fitted.

A leather skirt sits over the instep for a clean finish, and top and bottom zip protectors help keep the zip running smoothly and stop it catching on clothing or tack.

Mocha and Polished Brown are the classic choices alongside brown Kentucky boots, while Polished Black gives a sharp, formal look for competition. Navy and Grey are more fashion-led options if you'd rather not match your boots exactly.

Wipe clean after use and keep them away from direct heat sources. A leather protector spray can help guard against everyday wear and the occasional splash of mud.

Waterproofing isn't listed as a feature of this range, so we'd treat them as everyday leather-look half chaps rather than a wet-weather product.

They're designed and shaped specifically to fit our Kentucky boots, so that's where you'll get the best match. They may work with other jodhpur boots of a similar cut, but we can't guarantee the fit.

Polished Black or Polished Brown give the smartest, most formal finish for showing and dressage. Mocha is a slightly softer, more casual tan.
