Andalucia Boots Buying Guide

The Andalucia is Bareback Footwear's signature lace-up equestrian boot — one design, three colourways, built to adjust to your leg rather than the other way round.

About the Andalucia Boots

Every Andalucia boot shares the same construction: a full-length rear lace system that adjusts up to 3.5cm around the calf, a full-length rear stretch gusset and OPTI zip for an easy on-off, a natural sheepskin insole, a gel insert heel, a moulded shank for stability, and a moisture-wicking Therma-Tex lining. The only difference between the three is colour, so pick whichever suits your yard, arena or everyday wardrobe:

All three are available in Standard and Wide calf fittings, for both ladies' and men's sizing.

Which Andalucia Is Right for You?

Use the table below to compare at a glance. Click any colour to go straight to that product.

Colourway Waterproof Calf Fit Lining Insole Best For
Black No Standard & Wide (adjustable lace) Therma-Tex moisture-wicking Natural sheepskin An everyday boot that pairs with most riding and country wear
Brown No Standard & Wide (adjustable lace) Therma-Tex moisture-wicking Natural sheepskin Riders who prefer a traditional, warmer leather tone
Desert No Standard & Wide (adjustable lace) Therma-Tex moisture-wicking Natural sheepskin A lighter tan for casual and country days out
How the Andalucia Should Fit

The Andalucia's full leg lace system runs the length of the rear of the boot, giving up to 3.5cm of adjustable width around the calf — so a Standard fit can be loosened for a slightly fuller leg, and a Wide fit can be laced in for a closer feel. Combined with the rear stretch gusset and OPTI zip, this means you don't need to size up just to get the boot on and off comfortably. If you're between calf sizes, or your calf circumference tends to sit at the top of a size range, go for the Wide fit and use the lacing to fine-tune from there.

Lining and Comfort

Every Andalucia boot is finished with a natural sheepskin insole for genuine, breathable cushioning against the foot, plus a gel insert heel to absorb shock on hard yard and arena surfaces. The Therma-Tex lining is designed to wick moisture away from the foot, helping to keep things comfortable over a long day rather than trapping heat and damp. A moulded shank through the sole adds torsional support, so the boot holds its shape and gives you a stable base whether you're mucking out or in the saddle.

Are the Andalucia Boots Waterproof?

No — the Andalucia range doesn't include a waterproof membrane, so we wouldn't recommend it for wading through wet fields or standing in the rain for long periods. The Therma-Tex lining manages moisture from normal wear (sweat and humidity) rather than external water. For genuinely wet, muddy conditions, we'd suggest one of our dedicated waterproof boots instead — the Andalucia is best suited to yard work, hacking and everyday wear in typically dry conditions.

Caring for Your Andalucia Boots

Wipe off mud and dirt with a damp cloth after use and allow the boots to dry naturally, away from direct heat, before storing. Condition the leather periodically to keep it supple and to help maintain its colour, particularly on the Brown and Desert colourways. Because the sheepskin insole is a natural material, letting boots air out between wears helps keep them fresh and extends their life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the Andalucia boots waterproof?

No. The Andalucia doesn't have a waterproof membrane, so it's better suited to dry conditions and everyday yard or riding wear rather than wet weather.

What's the difference between the Black, Brown and Desert Andalucia boots?

Nothing beyond colour — all three share the same construction, lacing system, sheepskin insole and Therma-Tex lining. Choose whichever colourway suits your wardrobe or yard.

Do the Andalucia boots come in wide calf fittings?

Yes. Each colourway is available in both Standard and Wide calf fittings, and the full-length rear lace adds a further 3.5cm of adjustment on top of that.

Are the Andalucia boots suitable for everyday wear as well as riding?

Yes. Their classic shape and lace-up styling mean they work equally well for hacking and yard duties as they do for country walks or everyday use with jeans.

Are the Andalucia boots available for men and women?

Yes, the range is offered in both ladies' and men's sizing across all three colourways.
