Knee High Riding Boots

Most of our knee high riding boots are built from genuine leather with breathable, moisture-wicking linings rather than fully waterproof membranes — ideal for regular schooling, yard work and dry-weather hacking. The exception is the Vermont Storm, which uses a W-Tex® waterproof lining designed to keep your feet dry in genuinely wet conditions. If you're regularly out in the rain or mucking out in all weathers, the Vermont Storm is the one to choose. For everyday riding in normal conditions, any of the other models will serve you well.

If a standard calf fit feels tight, the Montana is available in both standard and wide calf fittings. For an even more precise fit, the Andalucia uses a full-leg front lace system that gives up to 3.5cm of adjustable calf width, so you can tighten or loosen the fit to suit your leg shape rather than being locked into one size. Both also include a rear stretch panel for extra flexibility around the calf and ankle.

For genuinely wet conditions, the Vermont Storm is our only confirmed waterproof option, thanks to its W-Tex® lining and dual grip outsole for secure footing in and out of the saddle. The other boots in this collection use moisture-wicking or breathable linings, which help manage everyday dampness and perspiration but aren't designed to keep out standing water or heavy rain.

All models include a built-in shank through the sole for arch support and stability, both in and out of the saddle.

A well-fitted knee high boot should sit close to the leg without pinching behind the knee or gaping at the calf. If you're between calf sizes, or your calf measurement sits above a standard fitting, choose a wide calf option like the Montana or an adjustable option like the Andalucia. The boot should be snug enough to stay secure in the stirrup and saddle, with enough give at the ankle and instep to bend comfortably when walking. We recommend trying boots on with the socks you'll normally wear for riding, and checking our size guide before ordering if you're unsure between two sizes.

Only the Vermont Storm in this collection has a confirmed waterproof lining (W-Tex®). The other models use breathable or moisture-wicking linings, which are comfortable for everyday riding but aren't designed to keep out heavy rain or standing water.

The Montana is available in a dedicated wide calf fitting alongside standard. If you need even more flexibility, the Andalucia's front lace system adjusts up to 3.5cm, so it can be widened as needed rather than relying on a fixed wide-calf size.

The Andalucia is our most adjustable boot, with a full-leg lace system giving up to 3.5cm of extra calf width. Several other models, including the Graceland, Georgia and Milan, include a rear or side stretch panel for a small amount of built-in give.

Both the Graceland and Milan use a full leather lining and a Vibram® sole, and both have a rear/side stretch panel with around 2cm of adjustment. The main difference is styling: the Milan has a high dressage cut for a smarter, more formal look, while the Graceland has side spur rests and a slightly more classic field boot shape. The Milan is currently a clearance line, so it's worth checking sizing carefully before ordering.

Yes. All of these boots are built with durable outsoles and steel or moulded shanks for stability, so they hold up well to yard work as well as riding. If you're mucking out or working outside in wet conditions regularly, the waterproof Vermont Storm is the most practical choice.
